Is this Anyway to Celebrate a Winter Holiday?

A Thanksgiving Day Sentiment in the sand “Give Thanks”

You’d better believe it is!  This Thanksgiving our son invited us to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with him at Myrtle Beach SC.  Nine of us enjoyed a long weekend not only celebrating with a traditional dinner, but walking the beach in near 60 degree weather .  Quite a change from the 30 degrees we have in Upstate New York this time of year.

I didn’t think it was possible to top this, but next year we’re talking about taking a cruise during the holiday!   Now if they would only put a quilt shop on the ship………

Our Condo Building. We were on the 17th Floor with a magnificent view.

I was also able to go to one of the quilt shops in the Myrtle Beach area – Quilting at the Beach.  I was extremely happy to find a backing for the Cityscape quilt that I am making for a Christmas present in their amazing Bargain Row.  It was only $5.60 a yard – and I also got a 20% discount because I purchased the end of the bolt.  What a find!

While there I overheard some other shoppers mention that they were from Upstate NY.  Curious, I had to find out exactly where they were from.  At first they said the Albany area – but when I told them that I was from Syracuse they explained that they were actually from Cobleskill.  Small world isn’t it!

There is always time to quilt!
