Machine applique, Quilt Musings

Dog Days of Summer

This summer has been unusually warm for Central New York.  Twenty-one days of 90 plus degree weather!  And August has just begun!

Normally we’ll have about 13 or so 90 degree days sprinkled throughout the summer months.  All is not lost however.  It’s a good excuse to stay inside with  the air conditioning – more time to quilt.

I’m currently working on two table runners – both with Fall themes.

Falling Leaves

The first is a kit given to me by my friend Mae.  It’s all ready for the machine applique.

And the second is a quilt by Kim Diehl.  All the yo yo’s are made and just have to be sewn on.  I’m thinking that I need to quilt the quilt first and then sew on the yo yo’s.  Can’t imagine quilting between all those rows!

…with a little help from my friend..

Dolce of course had to get in on the act.  I don’t think she likes the yo yo placement.

There is always time to quilt!
