Quilting

National Quilting Day

This past Saturday  was National Quilting Day.  A few of us got together at the library in Marcellus NY to share our love of quilting and work with friends who  just plain enjoy quilting.  National Quilting DayI’m not sure whether it is more important to actually get something accomplished in sessions such as this, or to just enjoy doing something that you really love with people who share the same interest.

However I did actually accomplish something this time.    And it felt good!

About 5 years ago I bought this Birchwood Lane Candlemat kit.  CandlematIt’s been ‘waiting’ in my stash for just the right moment.  It seems that we are so busy making things for others that we hardly ever make something for ourselves.

It was actually rewarding to finish this one so quickly (even though I needed a ‘bit’ of help with fabric placement’ – Thanks Lisa).

And I do really think it is a perfect addition to the coffee table in my living room!

Now… to get to the other two kits that I picked up at the same time!

There is always time to quilt!
