Quilting and the Internet

It’s Splended

Since Pat Sloan will be coming to our guild in September for a workshop and trunk show,  I thought I would try working on one of her projects prior to that.

She is promoting a sampler of 100 – 6″blocks by various designers that is to be completed over the next year.  Today’s email suggested 30-35 fat quarters plus background fabric would be needed to finish the quilt.

I had to see what I could come up with in my stash.   Easily, I came up with 25 that should work. Fat Quarters I’ll go through yardage next and should definitely be able find at least 10 additional fabrics.

Normally when I am making a special guilt I make a trip to the quilt store to make sure I get coordinating fabrics.  One of my fellow guild members told me that her goal was to use up as much of her stash as she could before buying something else.  I decided to see if I could follow suit.

Last year I made my granddaughter, who was getting married, a Christmas tree skirt.  I was able to put together fabric for the entire top from my stash.  So now I check my stash first!
